In this cruel world, it is heartwarming to know there are people who care. For the past 2 years, I have been supporting a boy in MS who was 15 at the time he was given a life sentence. He has been trying to survive at Walnut Grove going on 4 years and Tupelo Detention Center for 9 months before that because he couldn't make bail. He has grown up in prison. He says he's seen and experienced things in prison that even freedom wouldn't cure. He is fighting "cancer of the soul and spirit" everyday. I'm your basic suburban "soccer Mom" never exposed to anything like this and am utterly changed by it; my eyes are open. The stories I have heard, are incredible. I learned about him through a juvenile justice advocacy website. I've hired him a PCR attorney and we're waiting for a decision on the Application. I believe this boy is innocent but it will be an uphill battle to prove it. I also know of other kids through my communications with Brett who are serving life sentences who truly seem innocent and have had very poor representation and trials. It's sad indeed.

Thanks to Scott & John for what they are doing for the innocent and God Bless them. I know where my money is going when I die.
